Mac Admins Deploy AI Code at Rapid Pace While Rollbacks Lag Behind
Yahoo Finance ·
According to a new report from Fleet Device Management titled Apple in the Enterprise, enterprise Mac administrators are quickly adopting AI to push scripts, configurations, and troubleshooting into production. Surveying over 250 IT practitioners managing Apple devices, the research reveals that 86% allow AI-generated output onto production devices after review. Over the past month, 61% used AI for MDM profiles, 62% for coding, and 68% for log analysis. Despite this rapid deployment, nearly 70% cannot revert a faulty configuration within an hour, and 43% require more than a day. Fleet CIO Allen Houchins noted that while AI accelerates changes, recovery speed must match to prevent significant resource drains. Furthermore, 57% of administrators now regularly use LLM assistants, and 64% see a clear career path to software engineering roles. Fleet CEO Mike McNeil emphasized that device management needs robust version control safety nets akin to Git to maintain oversight as AI integration deepens across mixed-device operating environments.
AI 시장 분석
According to Fleet's latest survey, 86% of enterprise Mac admins are deploying AI-generated code to production, yet nearly 70% fail to recover within an hour of an error, and 43% take over a day. While AI deploys changes in seconds, slow recovery speeds in legacy infrastructure are worsening IT resource waste. Investors should note the rising demand for mobile device management (MDM) and infrastructure security automation solutions.
상승 영향
- Software — Driven by the spread of AI coding, corporate demand for version control and infrastructure as code (IaC) management solutions is surging, expected to drive revenue growth for related software companies.
하락 영향
- IT Services — Compared to the speed of AI-based changes by enterprise Mac admins, the rollback speed of legacy device management infrastructure is too slow (43% take over a day), increasing operational risks and recovery costs.
DYAX 전담 분석
Although AI adoption has accelerated Mac management speed, 43% of companies take over a day to roll back, clearly exposing the limitations of legacy device management infrastructure. This is prompting enterprises to rush the adoption of version control and infrastructure as code (IaC), stimulating demand for related software.
The bullish scenario is that modern device management and version control solution companies will benefit, while the bearish scenario is a general increase in IT costs in the event of a security incident caused by delayed recovery. Key metrics include MDM and DDM (Declarative Device Management) adoption rates and version control tool usage metrics.
