Elisa Teams Up with NVIDIA and Nokia to Advance Commercial AI-RAN in Finland
Yahoo Finance ·
Finnish telecommunications operator Elisa is partnering with NVIDIA and Nokia to deploy distributed AI infrastructure, paving the way for commercial AI-RAN services in 2027. Elisa recently completed Europe's first live-network AI-RAN trials in Helsinki, successfully running voice, mobile data, and video analytics simultaneously on its 5G Advanced network. The trial utilized Nokia's AI-RAN solution alongside the NVIDIA Aerial RAN Computer platform and RTX PRO Blackwell Server Edition GPUs. Sami Komulainen, COO and EVP of Technology and Operations at Elisa, noted that integrating connectivity and AI computing lays a solid foundation for future AI-native 6G networks. Ronnie Vasishta of NVIDIA and Emma Falck of Nokia both highlighted that this initiative transforms traditional mobile networks into intelligent edge platforms capable of real-time data processing and autonomous optimization.
AI 시장 분석
Finland's telecom operator Elisa, in collaboration with NVIDIA and Nokia, has successfully demonstrated Europe's first commercial AI-RAN live network. This test accelerates the commercialization of next-generation 6G and Edge AI by simultaneously running wireless access functions and AI computing on mobile network infrastructure. From an investor's perspective, attention should be paid to the potential creation of new markets in telecom equipment and accelerated computing.
상승 영향
- Semiconductors — NVIDIA's GPUs (such as RTX PRO BSE) are being adopted on a large scale for AI-RAN infrastructure construction, directly driving demand for high-performance accelerated computing chips.
- Telecom Equipment — With the full-scale adoption of AI-RAN solutions by telecom equipment companies like Nokia, revenue growth is expected following the transition to 5G Advanced and 6G infrastructure.
- AI — As AI computing and infrastructure expand beyond data centers to the edge of mobile networks, a new real-time AI services market is opening up.
DYAX 전담 분석
Elisa utilized Nokia's AI-RAN solution along with NVIDIA's Aerial RAN Computer and RTX GPU (Blackwell Server Edition) to simultaneously run voice, mobile data, and video analytics in a 5G environment. This proves that network infrastructure is evolving beyond simple communications into a distributed AI computing platform, acting as a positive factor for the earnings growth of related technology suppliers NVIDIA and Nokia.
The bullish scenario is that the 2027 commercialization target proceeds without a hitch, leading to a boom in AI-RAN adoption by global telecom operators, while the bearish scenario is a delay in generating tangible revenue relative to the burden of infrastructure investment costs. Key monitoring indicators are the speed of telecom operators' Edge AI adoption and the scale of related hardware supply contracts.
