Chip designer Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD , Financials ), the developer of Ryzen CPUs and Instinct AI accelerators, has made a multi-billion dollar deal with Anthropic that involves chips, infrastructure and a possible investment. Anthropic will begin deploying as much as 2 gigawatts of AMD's MI450-series AI accelerators in the first half of 2027.The rollout will include AMD's Helios rack-scale systems, which will feature MI455X graphics processors, EPYC Venice CPUs, Pensando networking and ROCm software.
